Three Diagnostic Methods of Laryngeal Masses

A lump in your throat, which you can feel with your fingers from outside your neck, can be anything, from swollen lymph nodes to thyroid cysts or tumors. A lump in the inside of the throat that cannot be felt with the fingers may mean pustules on the tonsils, vocal cord polyps, or just a lump-like sensation caused by emotional confusion. If the mass is clear, can be pushed back and forth on the side of the neck, and can be palpated under the skin, then it is likely to be a lymph node and related to infection. Viruses like herpes usually cause neck lymph nodes to swell and become painful. If the cause of the type of mass is not obvious, consult a doctor for evaluation.
